One of my absolute favorite things about Summer is Lilly Pulitzer. I mean, what screams warm weather more than a Lilly sundress? I’ve lived in South Carolina for the majority of my life, so I was introduced to Lilly from day one, and have grown to love it as one of my all time favorite brands. I have to admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of it when I was younger, back in my tomboy days. I remember walking past the Lilly Pulitzer section in a mall with my mom, and she said, “Jenna, aren’t these clothes beautiful? Why don’t you try a dress on” and I’m pretty sure the first words out of my mouth were “Yuck! It’s so… pink.” Obviously my style has changed tremendously since then. I remember the first time I walked into a Signature Store, during my sophomore year of high school. It sounds cheesy, but for me it was heaven on earth. At that point my style was more mature, and I had gained more of an appreciation for finer, more sophisticated brands. I bought my first Lilly dress that day, and it’s still my favorite of them all. During graduate school I worked for a few months in a Signature Store, and let me tell you, my paychecks seldom made it out the front door!

Despite having different owners, and the passing of the beloved Lilly Pulitzer, the brand has always remained true to the lifestyle. Being happy and having fun are more important than anything else. If you’ve worn the bright, colorful clothing, you know exactly what I mean.
