A few weeks ago, Ed and I spent a weekend in the North Carolina mountains and dedicated Sunday to driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway into Blowing Rock. We visited last year during the spring, and since then I had been looking forward to seeing the beautiful foliage that I knew fall would bring. All of the leaves had changed to red, orange and yellow and the weather was incredible. Blowing Rock was equally as beautiful and I have never seen a town decorate so much for fall! There were pumpkins, gourds and wreathes everywhere. It was the perfect ending to our fall getaway.
I wore this comfy ruffle sleeve sweater to explore Blowing Rock and received so many compliments!I have been hesitant to try this trend because sleeve detail typically swallows me, but the sleeve on this sweater isn’t too dramatic and still makes a statement!
There’s nothing I love more than a fall staple that’s classic, cozy and something I know I’ll be able to wear for years to come. The weather has been chilly enough for me to bring out some of my favorite pieces from last fall and some new ones including this Talbots coat. The camel color goes with everything in my closet and I love the ruffle detail! I wore it during the day with a suede skirt and boots and I plan on wearing it with a simple dress and heels for date night!
It feels good to be home after a busy weekend. Ed and I went to the mountains and I can’t wait to share the photos we took! So stay tuned for that and some fun activities to check out if you’re visiting the North Carolina mountains for the first time.
Fall weather is finally here! We’ve had ridiculously hot weather in Charlotte lately, so I was more than happy to break out some of my favorite sweaters last weekend including this Club Monaco poncho that I picked up in Charleston. It’s super soft and has the cutest bow detail on the sleeves. The poncho sweater is a favorite of mine for chilly weather with jeans and booties. It will definitely come with me to the mountains this weekend! I also found some budget-friendly options including this convertible cashmere version, this gorgeous neutral poncho, andthis one under $70.
