“Have you ever seen a more beautiful staircase?” Those were the first words that left my mouth when Ed and I parked our car in front of The Ballastone Inn last Friday night. Nestled away in the heart of The Historic District in Savannah, Georgia, we spent our first weekend exploring Savannah as guests of The Ballastone Inn. As one of the first bed and breakfasts in the Historic District, you can really feel the rich history and elegance of the inn as soon as you step foot on the staircase. You can discover more about The Ballastone Inn and our time in Savannah in tomorrow’s blog post!
We woke up bright and early before breakfast on Saturday morning to capture the morning light as best as we could. The rising sun peaking through the giant, moss-covered oaks was really something to behold. I wore this floral maxi dress for our first full day in the city and it was perfect for the hot, humid weather. This wicker cross-body bag is my new favorite accessory. I’ve carried it with me nonstop since I bought it for our trip!
This weekend was one for the books. My boyfriend Ed and I traveled to Savannah, Georgia to stay at the amazing Ballastone Inn. There will be a post coming on that – as well as a Savannah weekend travel guide – later this week! Previously, I had visited the city once and didn’t have the opportunity to see much, so we spent a lot of time exploring by foot and riding bikes. Everywhere you turn, there’s another incredible home as unique as the last. Elegant staircases and dramatic entryways surrounded by spanish moss are the norm. It’s unlike any city in the entire country.
If you’re visiting Savannah for the first time, be sure to visit West Jones Lane. The houses are incredible and we were so lucky to find it completely empty on Sunday. I wore this Free People Maxi Dress and it’s one of the dreamiest dresses I’ve ever owned. It’s flows perfectly when I walk and it’s perfect for date night or as a wedding guest dress!
Fall is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited to trade shorts and sandals for cozy sweaters and scarves. It’s without a doubt my favorite season – falling leaves, hot coffee, pumpkins, and Halloween! With fall right around the corner, I wanted to share some of my favorite (and most liked on Instagram) fall outfits that can be recreated easily and affordably!
